The Cave
The flashlight feature of a smart phone lights up iridescent
stalactites hanging from a 14 foot ceiling, and stalagmites
jutting up from the floor (a double carwash bay for trucks); a
halo effect akin to a glowing orb surrounds the mobile
phone. The geometry of the orb, meantime, is tracked by
surveillance software and as a visitor moves throughout The
Cave, a specific sound assigned to one’s ‘orb’ follows them
about in the space. By the end of the 10-day exhibition,
3,500+ visitors interacted with The Cave.
